Transferring video tapes to USB memory stick
It is important to realise that there are a lot of different types of video file formats. We convert video tapes to MPG file format, and you need to make sure that your TV or Blue Ray can read and play MPG formatted files.
In addition, the USB memory sticks are format using the ex-FAT file format. Again, you need to make sure that your playback devices can recognise an ex-FAT formatted disk. Some, do, some don’t.
If in doubt we recommend that you transfer your old video tapes to a standard DVD format, which should work in an DVD or blue Ray player.
The other problem with USB memory sticks is that you can accidentally erase the contents, at which point you have lost your videos.
For this reason, we recommend that copy your videos files to a backup hard disk, just in case.
